About Us

Welcome to all parents and guardians, students, community, staff members and our many alumni of Waukena Joint Union Elementary School District. As a rural single-school district, Waukena Joint Union Elementary School District covers approximately 50 square miles and serves 200-225 students in grades K-8. Our income base is largely agricultural, with strong economic influence from the dairy industry. Our school provides a complete curriculum in the areas of language arts, mathematics, history and science. We rely on standards-based instruction and data-driven assessments to ensure academic growth of our students. Despite our small school size, Waukena Elementary, due to being a member of Tulare County small school’s consortium, is able to engage our students in many positive and character-building competitions in the areas of academics and athletics.
