On behalf of the School Board members and the entire staff, welcome to Waukena Joint Union Elementary School District, home of the Wildcats!
We are honored to be partners with you in the elementary educational experience of your child. The elementary school years set the foundation in education and Waukena school continues the tradition of collaborative work through discovery, the building of rigor through the integration of technology, and the focus on building academic success to ensure our students are college and career-ready.
It is of great value to support your child’s education. We invite you to be involved in your child’s learning experience by being a classroom volunteer, member of the Parent-Teacher Club (PTC), School Site Council (SSC), or District English Learner Advisory Council (DELAC). Please take the time to review your child’s work every day and discuss the highlights of their school day. When a child knows you care about his or her education, he or she will care too. We ask you to make it a priority to check homework daily and make sure it is complete before the next day. Attendance is equally important as well as following school rules, checking the student planner, and attending parent/teacher conferences.
Monthly newsletters are sent home to inform you of school events. Please visit our school website at www.waukenaschool.com to stay up-to-date with the most current information. We would like to extend our appreciation and gratitude to the Waukena community for the continued support they provide to our school.
Together we set the foundation for the future success of our students. We are looking forward to a successful and exciting 2020 -2021 school year.
Mr. T. Jeffrey Cooley
